The good news is rolling in

We’ve been open for business barely an hour and the reviews are already in. TechCrunch says we’re a hit!

It’s high time someone took the best practices from across the web that conference attendees and support sites have been developing. It’s great that Confabb is bringing many different services together and aggregating them. The project should get a lot of support and expect that at least the web world, if not the larger conference world, will be using Confabb quite a bit.

Story here.

Our good friend Robert Scoble had this to say:

Is this a cool demo? Nah, not like last week’s Photosynth. Will it put Microsoft out of business? Nah. But is it something that you will probably use? I think so, at least if you’re going to go to a conference.

He’s also got a video interview of Salim up here. Full post here.

Also, a nice write-up in The 360 here.

CNET’s Rafe Needleman listed somethings he’d like to see in Confabb:

I’d like to know which conferences my friends are going to, and I wouldn’t mind them knowing where I’m going either. I’d also like to put virtual beacons on key industry figures I respect, then make sure I hit the same conferences they’re going to, whether or not they are speaking. I guess this makes me a groupie of a sort. But in journalism (and in all business, I believe), proximity is everything.

Don’t worry Rafe, all that and more is coming. Just keep checking our Coming Soon page. Rafe’s review is here.

You should add a category for library conferences (Computers in Libraries is one that’s already in the database under “computers”). We have a lot of conferences, and I think this tool would really take off in the librarian blogger community.
