Yahoo! Snags a Huge Talent

We’re late getting a blog post up, but we wouldn’t let the day get by without congratulating Confabb co-founder Salim Ismail for being tapped to run Yahoo! Brickhouse. Bradley Horowitz and the rest of Yahoo!’s execs clearly knew what they were doing when they pulled in Salim and gave him an offer he couldn’t refuse.

When Cameron Barret brought his Confabb idea to Salim last year he probably never would have guessed Salim would bring it to life as quickly as he did. That’s a testament to Salim’s ability to see clearly a vision, *and* the path to bringing that vision to reality. He’s done this many times over, and that kind of real-world, suffer and success, sink or swim experience is what makes successful entrepreneurs.

All of us at Confabb will testify to Salim’s incredible ability to excite us, motivate us and excel at what we came on board to do here. He’s a thoughtful leader, with an easy-going but focused attitude. If Salim’s ability to get Confabb off the ground and grow as quickly as it has is any indication of his future performance at Brickhouse, then Yahoo! just made a game-changing decision.

We couldn’t be more thrilled for Yahoo! and we applaud its wisdom. This position was made for Salim. Of course, we can say all of this with an authentic smile. Salim is still chairman of our board, and as we announced the other night, we’ve gained a killer CEO.

Great job Yahoo!, and congratulations again to Salim.
