Since our launch in November ‘06, Confabb has grown—so much so that we’ve quickly become the premier searchable source on the web for conferences and trade shows. Our users have been feverishly dumping new events into our database every day and we certainly couldn’t have made it this far without their help. And for that we’re grateful.
We’ve also put together a unique offering for conference organizers–one which makes Confabb completely different from other event aggregators. We’ll have some great news to share regarding this service offering later this week, so stay tuned to the blog for more information. In the meantime, it’s with great pleasure that we introduce our new CEO, David Dell, Phd.

David comes to Confabb with a wealth of experience, most of it (and most importantly) in the conference industry. He has a unique background combining research, management consulting, executive leadership and investment banking. Dr. Dell has been Research Director for The Conference Board and other leading research and conference producing organizations, where he authored or co-authored more than 100 research reports on technology and business trends affecting major corporations and appeared as a featured speaker at numerous management conferences. He has advised Fortune 100 corporations on issues in technology strategy and outsourcing, helped lead turnarounds of technology companies acting as Both Chief Technology Officer as well as Chief Talent Officer, and has been an officer and director of two NASD National listed companies. He has ten years experience as an investment banker focusing on small-cap IPO’s, acquisitions, divestitures and joint ventures of emerging technology companies.
From the beginning, we’ve wanted to bring in a professional CEO with deep, direct experience in a) the conference industry, and b) a track record of leading companies in times of rapid expansion. We are lucky to have found such a great match for Confabb. We’re excited David is on board and can’t wait for him to bring Confabb through its next phase of growth.
Salim Ismail, who had been working in the interim CEO role until we found the right person for the CEO position will retain his role as Chairman.
We know David will continue to help us deliver great services to our users and devise new ways in which to serve the conference industry.
A win / win person; not many people have the ability to create win / win situations for everyone involved. David does!
