Disruptive News of the Day: Apple, Inc’s. iPhone

What do you make of a company that can literally stop the world by unveiling a not-yet available mobile phone? Pretty slick, right?

That’s what happened today when Steve-O unvelied Apple, Inc’s. iPhone. The announcement even made NBC’s Nightly News (broadcast) and more or less drowned out any other news coming from San Francisco OR Las Vegas. And…oh yeah, they changed the name, too. Apple Computer is now just Apple, Inc. Mr. Arrington has a good write up of the announcement on TC. We liked his detail about the body blow Apple’s announcement made to RIM and Palm, too.

We also stumbled upon Paul Kent’s Macworld “Buzz” blog here. It’s full of good insider-y information about the show and everything going on around it. Check it out.
